Oral implant education and training for dentists with the objective to implement improved dental standards is an international commitment of the DGOI. One of the international scientific partner organizations of the DGOI is the Ukrainian Association of Oral Implantology. Due to this contact, Professor Fred Bergmann, Past President of DGOI, now received an invitation from the Ukrainian Dental Association to be one of the international guest speakers at the 5th National Ukrainian Dental Congress, which will take place in Kiev in October 2020.
The 5th National Ukrainian Dental Congress will be held under the topic “Oral health is an integral part of the nation’s health”. The congress is dedicated to the centenary of the formation of the Ukrainian Scientific Dental School and to the 25th anniversary of the founding of the nongovernmental organization “Ukrainian Dental Association”. The Congress will include a current scientific programme with oral health experts presenting on a broad spectrum of issues in the field of dentistry, from management protocols of tooth decay to temporomandibular disorders to aes-thetic parameters for implant prosthetics. Professor Bergmann will cover the topic of modern treatment concepts in oral implantology. The Ukrainian Dental Association takes great care to prepare a unique and modern scientific programme every year.
In addition, a symposium on postgraduate education and continuous professional development for doctors in dentistry is being planned in cooperation with the Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education. Professor Bergmann will present the programme of the Conjoint Curriculum Implantology of the Ukrainian Association of Oral Implantology and the DGOI as well as a new implantology master programme.
